Director of Maintenance

CMHC is a retirement community which offers various levels of care to elders; assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of our campus in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, ensuring that the facility is maintained in a safe, comfortable condition.

  • Maintenance and repair of the center.
  • Upkeep of all interior and exterior areas.
  • Installation of new equipment, fixtures, etc.
  • Maintenance of all associated equipment, machines, and tools.
  • Maintenance and operation of all entry locking devices.
  • Ordering and inventory of all maintenance supplies and materials.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure compliance with fire and safety codes.
  • Preform floor care work
  • Interact with fire, building and safety inspectors.
  • Respond to and be available for emergency calls.
  • Preform and complete maintenance on building and mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing HVAC, nurse call and security.
  • Supervise fire and safety programs.
  • Regularly inspect equipment, building and grounds to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Ensure that personnel comply with Universal Precautions, proper waste disposal and inspection control procedures and safety rules.
  • Forecast needs of the department; order equipment and supplies as necessary; and maintain proper records of repairs, purchases and other expenditures.
  • Conduct routine audits and records of maintenance systems.
  • Attend leadership team meetings.
  • Ensure personnel receive proper training for infection control, the Hazardous Communication Program and Universal Precautions prior to working.

 

Qualifications:

Facility management experience preferred

Computer skills and good communication skills and problem-solving skills required.

Experience with Life Safety Codes preferred or obtained.

Position will require all rules and regulations, policy and procedure implemented and followed.

Transportation CDL passenger endorsement required or obtained.

Position will require being on call.

Position requires living within 10 minutes of facility.
